Window Tint
Removal

Old film bubbling, purple, or peeling? We strip it clean — no scratches, no adhesive residue, no shortcuts. Ready for fresh film or bare glass. Serving Five Forks, Simpsonville, and all of Upstate SC.

Your tint is telling you something

All window film eventually reaches the end of its life — but cheap or old dyed films get there faster. When you see any of these, the film needs to come off. It won't get better on its own.

Bubbling Film

Bubbles under the tint mean the adhesive has failed. Once it starts, the whole panel needs to come off.

Purple or Faded Color

Purple tint is UV-degraded dye. The film won't recover — and it looks terrible. Time to strip it.

Peeling Edges

Edges lifting mean water and dirt are getting under the film. This accelerates failure across the whole window.

Inspection or Legal Issue

If your tint doesn't meet SC VLT requirements or failed inspection, we remove it right and get you compliant.

DIY removal goes wrong in a hurry

YouTube makes tint removal look simple. In reality, using a razor blade on automotive glass — especially the rear window — risks scratching defroster lines that cost hundreds to replace. And cheap adhesive doesn't come off cleanly without the right products and technique.

We use a careful, controlled process and take every precaution to protect the defroster grid — but it's important to be upfront: there is always some risk of defroster line damage during tint removal. It's rare when done right, but it can happen, especially on older glass or heavily bonded film. We'll never pretend otherwise.

The job is done by Jordan personally — no handing off to a junior tech on a film removal because it seems like a "simple" job.

01

Film Removal

The existing film is carefully stripped in controlled sections. We take every precaution to protect defroster lines, though some risk of damage is inherent to the process — especially on aged or heavily bonded film.

02

Adhesive Cleanup

Old adhesive is removed completely from the glass surface. No leftover haze, no sticky residue.

03

Glass Ready

Windows are cleaned and prepped — ready for new Hitek film or returned to bare glass, whichever you prefer.

Tint Removal FAQ

What to expect when you bring the car in.

Yes, in most cases. We strip the old film, clean the glass, and install fresh Hitek film in the same appointment. This depends on the condition of the existing film — badly degraded adhesive takes longer to clean. We'll assess at drop-off and give you an honest timeline.
We take every precaution to protect the defroster grid, but we want to be honest — there is always some risk of damage during tint removal. Defroster lines are printed directly on the inside of the glass and can be affected by the adhesive bond of the film, particularly on older installs. It doesn't happen often when the job is done carefully, but we won't tell you the risk is zero.
Bubbling means the adhesive has broken down — usually from age, heat cycles, or a poor original install. Purple discoloration is UV-degraded dye. Both are signs of a failing dyed film. Once either starts happening, the film won't recover. It needs to come off.
Technically yes, but the rear window is high-risk. Using a razor blade near defroster lines can scratch or sever them — and defroster repair or replacement is expensive. Adhesive removal is also harder than it looks. For most people, paying a professional is cheaper than the repair bill from a DIY gone wrong.
You can absolutely leave it bare. Some drivers just want the old failing film off, whether for inspection, aesthetics, or to sell the car. We clean the glass completely and return it factory-clear. If you decide to retint later, we can do that in a separate appointment.
